Placing a listing

To place a listing click the Sell tab. You must be an authenticated member, and be based in NZ or Australia.

Most items on Trade Me are sold by auction, however in some categories you are able to place classifieds. These include: Cars, Boats, other Motors categories, Real Estate, Jobs, Rentals and Flatmates, Cats, Dogs, Horses, Rabbits and Businesses for sale. These categories have upfront listing fees and are not charged success fees.

Success fees are charged on auctions where the highest bid is equal to or above the reserve price or the item is purchased by Buy Now.

Sellers need to ensure that their listings comply with Trade Me terms and conditions and that it isn't listed in our banned and restricted items list.

Please note that we do not allow wanted ads on the site, with the exception of the Wanted Car Parts category. If you are looking for a specific item add the search term for the item to your favourite searches or subscribe to the relevant category within Trade Me. This will send emails of new listings of interest on a regular basis.
