Listing tips
Upload good photosThe easiest way to make your listing stand out is to upload good photos. Listings that feature photos are viewed many more times than listings that don't.
It's best to have one photo of the exterior of the property and at least one photo of the interior. Multiple photos can be used to highlight the appealing features of your property or give a sense of the layout.
Write detailed descriptions
Describe the features that make your rental property a desirable place to live. Does the property have a beautiful garden? Is it close to shops? Has it recently been remodelled? Does it get a lot of sun? These kinds of details are very attractive to potential tenants. Also list the items included with the unit itself, such as whiteware, Sky TV, Internet access or furnishings.
Parking is a concern for tenants with cars, particularly in neighbourhoods where space is limited. Describe the parking situation of your property including any associated costs.
If you're advertising for a flatmate, describe the people who currently live in the flat. Mention if you're students, vegetarian, smokers or anything else that you think people should know about you.
Describe your desired tenants
Different properties are suitable for different types of people. Indicate if your property would be more appropriate for a professional couple, students or families so you can get a good match.
The same applies if you're looking for a flatmate. Should they be messy or neat? Do you only want men or women to live with you? How about people who have pets?
