Water Kefir is a pro-biotic drink made using kefir grains. Kefir grains consist of bacteria & yeast growing in a symbiotic relationship. We provide:

• 2 tbsp of dehydrated water kefir grains (equivalent to 1/2 cup hydrated grains) fed the best organic whole sugars and molasses we can find (hence creamy colour) - 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) of hydrated grains per litre of kefir water is recommended to start.

Note: Dehydrated grains will keep approx 3 months in cool, dry conditions from bagged date. It may take a little longer for the grains to get up to speed than hydrated ones but are less susceptible to damage in transit; therefore, better than hydrated if you live in rural areas, in case of delays in delivery.

Benefits: Water Kefir is loaded with valuable enzymes, easily digestible sugars, beneficial acids, vitamins and minerals. Water kefir supplies your body with billions of healthy bacteria and yeast strains. Therefore, aids digestion, provides immune support by warding off foreign and harmful bacteria, yeast and viruses, is great for overall health.

Also, Folic acid (and B vitamins) increases the longer it ferments, so you can let strained kefir sit for another day.

To start you'll need: *2 jars - 1 to grow kefir, the other to flavour the kefir water. - In terms of size we use a 3L jar to make the water kefir in, filling 2/3 and transferring into 2 L jar so there is room for gas when the jar is sealed. *Gauze or sieve to drain liquid from your kefir grains/ flavourings
