This fireplace poker/blower is a cross between an ordinary poker and a bellows except the air comes from your own puff. It is a brass tube standing 1210mm high and 15mm in diameter. One end has a mouthpiece like a trumpet's through which you blow. The air comes out of the other end which is put near the fire and helps it to ignite more quickly. The 'fire' end also has a solid point, so it can be used to stoke up your fire and push logs around.

I received this as a gift in the 1980s when I had a log burning fireplace; but since 1988, I have not been so lucky. It is particularly useful if space is tight as it comes with a brass mounting plate so that it can be neatly secured to the wall beside your fire.Could be useful on a camping trip as it takes up very little space in your car/truck.

The condition of this is very good to excellent. It has been polished to a warm glow. It was a wonderful tool.
