A reverse osmosis membrane will remove impurities and particles larger than .001 microns including all mineral , chemical, bacteria, fluoride.

It is important to understand that an RO system employs cross filtration rather than standard filtration where the contaminants are collected within the filter media. With cross filtration, the solution passes through the filter, or crosses the filter, with two outlets: the filtered water goes one way and the contaminated water goes another way.

1st stage: 5 micron spun-polypropylene (pre-filter sediment filter, to remove sediment, rust, sand, Dirt) (replace appox every 12 months)

2nd stage: Pre Carbon filter-UDF.- , to remove chlorine, bad taste, & odor (replace every 14-18 months)

3rd Stage: Post Carbon 1 micron spun-poly propylene (sediment filter, to remove sediment, rust, sand, Dirt) (Replace Appox every 12 – 18 months)

4th stage: HY-50 GPD Premium membrane removes 96% to 99% of all chemicals, dissolved solids in tap water. (replace every 2-3 years)

5th stage: Post carbon filter, further removing chlorine to ensure 100% removal of chlorine preventing the propagation of bacteria and eliminating unpleasant smell, taste and pigments permeated in water. (replace every 12 -18 months)
