With swan plants (Gomphocarpus fruticosus and G. physocarpus) in your garden the beautiful orange and black monarch butterfly will find them and lay her eggs on them in spring and summer.

The butterflies are magnificent! Children find the caterpillars fascinating as they grow up to 4cm long and then change into a gorgeous bright green chrysalis. A few weeks later, out comes another bright orange monarch butterfly.
