The Cotton Fan Palm (Washingtonia robusta) is one of the top 5 palms for our climate (Lower North Island).

It's an excellent palm choice for awful conditions as it will stand extremes of cold, wind and poor soil very well. Cotton palms are fast growing and attractive with dramatic big geometric fan leaves, curly cotton like filaments on the under side of the leaves and an orange trunk.

These are already a decent size, chunky palms in big bags, as pictured. Normally retail for $139 so you could get a bargain here!
