Calamansi Limes are a citrus variety native to the Philippine Islands and are widely cultivated for use in many delicious culinary applications.

The Calamansi Lime is dark green when unripe. As it ripens the fruit turns from light lime green to golden yellow. The fruit are used both unripe and ripe - being at its most juiciest when golden yellow.

The small fruit are usually 25-35mm in size with a very thin peel.

The sour aromatic juice is prized for flavouring drinks, making calamansi lime syrup, as a vital flavour component in many culinary Phillipine dishes (meat, chicken, fish, dressings).

The peel is highly valued for its aromatic zest and for making candied Calamansi peel (sweet and sour).

Calamansi Lime infused Vodka is very popular and easy to make. Indian Rangpur limes are used in the same manner to make the famous Tanqueray Rangpur Gin.

Calamansi limes are also used medicinally for skin irritations, as they have natural anti-inflammatory properties.

You are bidding on 1 dwarf Calamansi Lemonsito Lime tree in a 3lit pot standing aprox 40-50cm tall from top of pot to top of growth.

The origins of this favoured Calamansi variety, which is referred to locally as Kalamansi Lemonsito, originate in Mindanao, Philippines. It has intoxicatingly sweetly fragrant flowers, glossy rich green compact foliage.

These trees are grafted on dwarf Flying Dragon rootstock so will grow into a compact small tree standing aprox 1.5m tall. Ideal for smaller gardens and large tubs - perhaps the more ideal way to grow so you can move it into warmer overhead shelter in winter.

All citrus enjoy growing in very warm sheltered sunny spots, organically enriched moist rich, free draining soils.

I also have available Indian Rangpur Lime, Japanese Yuzu lime, Australian Finger Lime, Tahitian Bearrs Lime, Limequats, Kaffir Lime.

Full cultural growing information provided.

Happy to combine freight with any of my other listings.
