Poppy Seeds Papaver Somniferum Freaky 86 Pods on !

300+ seeds which are generally running at between 85-95% germination. I replant these exact seeds every year and get fabulous results.
The seeds in this particular auction are limited as I have only ever had one plant reach 86 pods !! Usually I get between 14-36 pods per plant with approx 50% being full size.
When this poppy started to grow in my garden on the top of a rock wall (nice and hot, acidic soil, well draining and sunny) it just kept on throwing out branches off the main trunk. I picked the most healthy of the plants that came up and snipped off any others.
I've never seen another True poppy like it.... in total (not counting the 3 stems that broke off in a storm) it had 86 pods on it which came in 3 separate waves and all matured at different times. I staked it, covered it and let the seeds mature properly for collection.

I already (from August) have some of it's seedlings growing in the same spot.... and I purposely took a lot of pics of this plant as I have never gotten such a number from one of my poppy plants before...and I figured that no one would believe me otherwise !

While obviously I cant guarantee you will get these results, you have a far higher chance of replicating them by using this seed and following the conditions that they were grown in.

This particular Poppy has been in our garden at Akaroa since the late 1800's. It has been growing and self planting so the strain is strong and pure.
