Compact bushy plants without runners, they have beautiful leaves, pretty white flowers then small but very tasty white strawberries.
The berries are eaten fresh and have a wonderful strawberry-wine flavour, much more delicate than the common strawberry.
They are first to fruit and ripen... and they produce all summer long.
Plants make an attractive edible edging to beds and are a favourite plant for containers.
But the best thing about them ............ the birds don't know they are ripe and leave the berries alone!!
If sown early indoors, they will often fruit the first year.

Plants enjoy an acidic soil in partial sun or shade.
