Description
WHITE BELGIAN Daucus carota var sativa This variety grows pure white - very striking on the table! An old Flemish heirloom that was once common on many of Europe's small farms, but has now become quite rare. First recorded in gardens of the 1500s which, along with the purple and red carrot, is responsible for the parenting of our modern orange carrot The long roots are creamy white with green shoulders and can grow up to 2 ft. long! Tender, almost coreless, very mild taste, and exceptionally high-yielding. Harvest in 90 days. Mild flavour unlike other carrots with a crisp crunchy texture, great cooked or cut into strips for a vegetable platter, dips or salads and makes an excellent carrot soup! A very productive carrot which can get large - 20-25cm. Can be left in the ground to be harvested when required over winter. Also good for those who don't tolerate carotene. Maturity 85-90 days.
