Beta vulgaris var crassa A pure white, fairly smooth round heirloom beet from Holland. Its super sweet white flesh is unusual and tasty.
Great novelty gourmet item and no more red stains all over the kitchen! High nutrition and vitamin content, the tops are rich source of vitamin C, the succulent green leaves have been bred for use as leaf beet or chard. You can pick the beet in the morning, cook the leaves at lunch, & eat the root for dinner!
No red colour so this delicious beetroot can be steamed with other vegies or grated raw as well as boiled and pickled for salads. Young thinnings may be transplanted or used as microgreens. The greens are also good. Roots store well after harvest.
Sow spring to autumn, anytime in mild climates.
Round to slightly conical white roots mature in 55 days from sowing.
