This auction is for 1 tsp (30,000) of Virginia Variety Tobacco Seeds. A University did a study & counted approx 30,000 seeds per tsp.

Even though we are in Winter, you can still start the seeds inside & by the time they are big enough to plant outside then we should be well into Spring. I will also send you 4 pages of "how to start & grow/dry tobacco" & 2 pages of my own tips/hints & 1 page of colour photos to show you what to expect. I was advised to check out u-tube on Tobacco growing/drying etc as there are so many growers showing you the way they do it. Seeing it on video is very useful. I also saw alternatives to buying expensive tools. I use the pulse button on my blender to cut our tobacco to a perfect size that can be rolled. It pays to check it out for yourself. This variety of Tobacco plant is very sturdy & so easy to grow any where in NZ. It's taste is medium. My husband who used to smoke Park Drive (orange/yellow pkt)says it is a similar taste. You may have heard it takes years to dry before being able to smoke but we smoke ours after several weeks of drying it & it's great. There is also a curing process you can do, I never have cured our's as we are happy with it as is. We were told to flavour the dried tobacco with any brown spirits, wet the tobacco with the spirits and re-dry then smoke and we tried this and it was great, very similar to Drum/Port Royale. If you are thinking of giving growing your own Tobacco a try, please do, it's so worth it and so easy. If you have no-where to grow them, try growing the plants in buckets which one trader did successfully. When you are puffing on your 1st homegrown smoke that has no chemicals added & it's not cost you an arm & a leg, you'll enjoy it a lot more & be able to smoke without a guilty conscience of having spent so much money. I also have 2 or 3 bag auctions & if more are wanted, just ask. Stop thinking about growing your own and DO IT, at least give it a try, it's so worth it.
