Up for auction is this adorable CLIMBING FROG brooch by JJ. The large bronze tone frog is beautifully made and very detailed. The legs are moving.

Condition: new with a secure/safety clasp

Age: This brooch is about ten years old but it has never been used/worn and comes with the original ARTIFACTS card.

Dimensions: 60 mm x 40 mm

Stamped/Marked: JJ and the copyright symbol The company was founded about 1935 by Abraham Lisker. The firm discontinued operations during WWII. After the war, Lisker restarted the company renaming the firm Jonette Jewelry Co. JJ costume jewellery consists primarily of figural and novelty pins. Christmas pins are another JJ specialty. JJ jewellery is marked J.J. with a copyright symbol preceding the initials. JJ went out of business in 2006.

I have been liquidating my huge collection of great vintage jewellery over the past few years and there are still quite a few pieces (or should I say boxes :-) left. Most of my jewellery comes from New York where I have spent numerous holidays in the 1980s and 1990s. In addition to that I have started to sell my mother´s jewellery which she used to sell in her bric-a-brac store in Zurich, Switzerland. She had the shop for many years and it was always a great source for my own collection too. However due to her age unfortunately she has decided to give it up.
