A very nice specimen of precious boulder opal from Queensland. Interest on both sides of the piece, with plenty of cutting potential into gem grade cabachons.

This piece has beautiful vibrant purple blue and green pattern and also a separate face of colour through the sedimentary formation on the other side.

The piece clearly shows the way the opal forms in cleavage fractures and fissures in the enclosing ironstone matrix rock.

This piece has been wet for the photo.
