As the photo shows, it is in a very attractive and unusual emerald cut and is a beautiful and prized dark pigeon blood red in colour and it has beautiful patterning. It is 25 x 20 x 9mm in size - an extremely large and rare 65.8cwt size for a precious ruby gemstone.

The big emeralds, rubies and sapphires that I sell cannot be evaluated by the accepted clarity grading scale as they have little or no clarity.
Colour - yes - these stones have some truly amazing colours that can rank at the top end, and often have truly stunning patterns as well.
Cut - usually - a good cut and polish will be noted in the listing as being of good cut and polish.
What these stones may lack in clarity they more than make up for with their sheer beauty.
