Heru is the Maori kupu (word) for this traditionally styled bone hair comb. This elegant Heru consist of four teeth. Available in three different Manaia styles, they can also be worn as a pendant.

--About Maori Heru-- The Maori Heru is an ornamental hair comb, usually worn to fasten a top knot. A Heru was once part of a ceremonial headdress for Maori men; nowadays it is a unisex hair adornment. Traditionally, the topknots of people of high rank were also embellished with huia bird feathers.
