Blue Sapphire "Poison" Ring! Set in Sterling Silver .925. Hand Made. Size 18.5, 1.85 cm across inner band. The Blue Sapphire itself is .6 cm. A natural gem and faceted to catch and reflect the light. The lid of the "Poison" ring sits on the secret compartment all solid Sterling silver and at the base is design workings. the whole top of the ring is 1.2 cm x 1 cm and sits .6 cm high. The lid flips open by the small Silver catch.

Poison Rings have been used throughout the ages to carry perfume, locks of hair, devotional relics, messages and other keepsakes.

Popular during the 16th Century when they were commonly used by the aristocracy to poison food or drink of an enemy or even for suicide of the rings owner in order to escape capture or torture.
