Due to our climate and hilly suburbs, the majority of houses in Auckland are damp. Which can mean a 150m2 house gets 60L per day of rising damp.

For a more permanent solution than a dehumidifier or an HRV system, the underfloor must be dried out to stop rising damp, then proper insulation installed. Stop rising damp and musty smell coming through the floor, for healthy air, reduced mold and rot.

A Polythene Vapor Barrier and in some cases underfloor drainage is the best permanent solution to make a dryer healthier home.

It is better to install outside of winter months when the house and floorboards are dryer.
