The hull of Katarina is the original 1” kauri planking. The engine is a Volvo MD3B diesel in very good condition today having completed only 1500 hours from new. It is incredibly cheap to run. She is married up through the Volvo gear box, shaft driven to a left hand 15 x 14 bronze prop which gives her a speed of 6 ½ knots at 1700 rpm. In more recent years the hull has been burned off, recaulked and repainted. Katarina is berthed at Waikawa Marina, Picton
