Cresta Craft V22

I have just bought a catamaran, so my beloved Cresta Craft has to go.

I re-powered her with a Mercruiser inboard two years ago. At the time I had the entire transom professionally rebuilt at Half Moon Bay Boatbuilders, and had the Mercruiser installed by Bryant Marine. Note that I do not know how many hours the Mercruiser has done (it does not have an hours meter) but I have put less than 50 hours on it myself. I was told that it was rebuilt in around 2008 i.e. about 4 years ago, and the guy I bought it off said he had also done very few hours. The engine runs sweetly and starts easily. I am taking her in for a service at Auckland Marine Centre this week (and will provide proof of that service), so she will be all good for the summer season.

She does about 22 knots, and is ultra-economical. I have a fuel flow meter installed as part of the electronics, and consumption at 18 knots is about 1 litre per nautical mile. That means her 200 litre fuel tank could get almost 200 nautical miles, enough for an extended trip over several days.

She is fully set up for overnighting, with two bunks, a flush toilet, a sink and a separate gas cooker. There are twin batteries, and a Lowrance colour fishfinder/GPS Chartplotter. Also has an automatic anchor winch installed.

I have a bimini top fitted, and an aluminium rocket launcher. I also made a clip-on road cover, and the boat also comes with a full storage cover. She has a full-width Kauri boarding platform over the leg, making it a great family boat for swimming or diving.

Also has trim tabs fitted, and comes on a braked tandem trailer which has just passed WOF. I fitted a brand-new set of submersible LED lights for the WOF (plus replaced a bearing) and registration is paid until April 2013.

She is old, but a solid and reliable boat that has served me well. You really need to come and try her out, and I am happy to arrange a sea trial. She is not the tidiest boat but I am doing a few things to neaten her up even though she is up for sale.
