This timber wheel was made in the time-honoured way, from arc-shaped sections of wood laid up in overlaps around turned spokes to form a circle. The cast brass centre boss is straight-bored for a keyway fitting. Finished in lacquer to enhance the wood and retains the wheel's asthetics.
Please note these wheels are decorative, and not intended for serious seagoing use.
