Octane NACRA F18 Catamaran 2002
What a rush – wet and wild, she is very fast! On a choppy day and 15kts wind or more, it’s the equivalent of standing in front of a salty water-blaster as you scream around the harbour. Just sensational...
Octane: High adrenaline racing. You'll be grinning & fizzing for the whole weekend after a few hours sailing.
The F18 class is one of the fastest growing and exciting classes in sailing today. Internationally the class is huge and established with club racing and multiday Raids. The New Zealand scene is very competitive, with club racing based out of the Royal Akarana yacht club in Auckland.
Octane is a complete and very well maintained machine – nothing spared. Last winter I added a new mast from Nacra in OZ.
She recently got 4th at the Nationals - by a young youth team that had only sailed her a few times before, again proving her competitiveness. See the latest photos attached.
Octane is ideal for anyone (Team) wanting to race catamarans at a highly competitive level... with aspirations of international competition, Raids, larger boats... or even to remain in the class.
