Grab yourself the last 'proper' Holden ute ever made...the mighty WB. A full chassis made these things unbreakable. The tray's are galvanised. They were the first Holden ute with RTS...and they have Commodore switch gear. It's the late model 'Blue' motor with HEI ignition.
Mod cons? Pah.
3 On the tree. No power steering for whimps here. Build up your arms parking the thing.
Passenger airbag? Hell yeah. Take your mother in law for a drive. While you're at it...get her to fill it with LPG. Got a cert till June 2010.
This thing is rough...but it's mechanically sound, and drives much better than it looks. I drove it all the way from New Plymouth to Wellington last week without a hassle. It also comes with a canopy...genuine Holden service manuals, and a smell that could only be old Holden.
Own it. You know you want to.
