1980 Swift LM1 Formula Ford
$15,500

Description
The Swift LM1 was built in Christchurch by Larry Mulholland, and raced in its first season to a 26 wins (and 4x2nd places) out of 30 races championship winning result driven by Jeff Pascoe in 1980/81.
In 1989/1990, the car won the Class 2 Formula Ford Championship driven by its current owner at Pukekohe, Manfield, Baypark and Wellington.
The engine, rebuilt by Garry Pedersen and Mark Sheehan (including a new block), is three meetings old. The Smiths Chronometric tach, all alloy bodywork, spectacular exhaust system from Mal Clark and legendary chassis stiffness all contribute to an exhilarating, and genuine early Formula Ford experience. Those who know the car have described it as "an arrow."
The Swift LM1 is now offered for genuine sale with spare suspension parts, two sets of 13 x 5.5 Cheviot Hotwire rims, spare Mk8 Hewland ratios and parts, chassis stands, quick lift and myriad new parts collected during the 25 years I've owned it. Included is a Category 1 MANZ Certificate of Description and as such, the Swift LM1 should be recognised by interested buyers as a most exciting, genuine prospect for Historic Formula Ford racing.
