Citroen BX16TRS - phase 1 1984

Italian automobile designer Marcello Gandini penned both the Citroen BX and the Lamborghini Countach. It's easy to tell - with style that matches the what can be only described as the best driving experience available in New Zealand (well, one of the best, within reason, ok it's pretty good, trust me it's awesome!).

This car shares the same platform as the Peugeot 405, but has hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension, plastic panels to reduce weight (bonnet, tailgate and bumpers) that with the 4 wheel disc brakes make for a futuristic high-performance driving experience. If you use the brakes, make sure everyone's got their seat belts on.

The drivers console is what inspired Battlestar Galactica - with LED rev counter, a rotating drum speed indicator and highly ergonomic sliding switches for lights and wiper (one central wiper does the whole front window).

The paint finish is not perfect, but the panels are all in great condition.
