Fiat Other 124 Spyder 1978

Fast, fun appreciating classic, ready to enjoy. Not concours or 100% original/matching numbers but I would say more 'original' than 'restomod', a car you can drive, work on, and continue to upgrade to your liking. I would rate the car as Hagerty 'Excellent'.

One previous owner for 20 years, he continually upgraded and maintained the car to a very high standard. A $50K receipt and photo file, along with manuals and books support the following highlights:

• Originally imported from California, professionally converted to right hand drive, and stripped of some of the more restrictive California emissions plumbing.
• Twin genuine Italian Webber IDF40 down draft carbs, original 'waffle' inlet manifold and 'turtle back' air filter.
• Engine, Clutch & Gearbox (5-speed) rebuilds
• Minor body work & respray by 'Car Surgery Wellington' (photos in file)
• New soft top
• Arbath alloy wheels

In my care I have concentrated on the creature comforts and brought the cabin noise down to acceptable modern standards:

• New taller ratio diff for quieter highway cruising (3.9 ratio, original 4.15 included with car)
• Dynomat style sound deadening fitted to boot lining, door skins & cards, inside front wings and firewall.
• Panel adjustment to remove vibration spots
• New engine mounts
• Removable rear air diffuser for when the top is down.
• Exhaust repair & wrap
• Manual choke for easy cold start
• Battery Isolater
• Minor cosmetic tidy ups

The car is entered into the Belle Italiane 50th Anniversary Celebrations and launch of the new Fiat 124 in Christchurch mid November, and entry, ferry tickets, and event hotel accommodation are included with the sale.
