Right. To be honest this is about the 5th attempt I have made to sell my mini. It's the same story everytime. I think I need the money, take it for a drive and then decide I can't and the cycle continues.
Can't hurt to try anyway :)
I've had GG for a bit over 6 years. It's been garaged the whole time and barely used.
I purchased it from a Mini enthusiast who had stripped it right down, rust proofed it and then painted it with Skyhawk paint (yes, the ex RNZAF jet)
The exterior is in excellent condition although there is a tiny spot of rust just under the boot. The interior has been re-carpeted and it has a dash from a 1275 which includes a Tacho. There is a small tear on the vinyl on the drivers seat.
A little over 3 years ago I put a new engine in it from a speedway Mini.
This was the ad for that engine:
1275 CID bored to 1330 CID
new pistons etc
A+ Rods--electronic distributer
Race cam
brand new GT40 coil
new leads and plugs
Engine built by Ivan Mockford
$1500.00 spent on rebuilt motor 2 years ago and not many K's done
(welded diff)
1275 headers and exhaust system (fitted new)
I have no idea of actual K's with a new engine and new dash.
A sparky friend invested a day and rewired a lot of the engine bay. Put in new alternator, new Hella headlights, two Hella Rallye Chrome Spotlights (3 years ago retailed at $649 each and are stupidly bright!!).
An immobilizer switch has been fitted under the dash.
It hasn't been driven for the last 3 years but I dug it out a month ago and have been using it a bit. It's very nippy but I still feel it lacks some decent legs on the open road (legacy of the speedway gearing maybe?)
I'm not overly mechanically inclined but will do my best to answer any questions. If you're interested feel free to pop around and have a decent look. I work shifts so if I don't reply to a txt or call straight away chances are I'm asleep but will get back to asap.
