Morris Marina 1700L 1979

Description
Original and unrestored car with excellent mechanicals. The 1700 O series overhead camshaft engine is more fuel efficient than the pushrod 1800 B series fitted to earlier Marinas. It can also be converted to 2 litre using Austin Princess parts. The Borg-Warner 65 automatic is more often found in larger cars such as XJ6 Jaguars - it will last many hundreds of thousand K's in a car like this. I have used some for over 350 thousand K's in my other Marinas. This car has optional sump guard and front and rear anti-swaybars. It handles quite impressively indeed. Owners of other makes do not like this. Handling is much further improved by the use of wider wheels such as the Superlite alloys shown in the final photo. Everything works including the radio. There are no rear seatbelts as they were not required in 1979. This car is perfectly happy as an everyday driver, cheap to maintain, and will be eligible for cheap rego in a few years. It has a few superficial rust spots which need attending to before new paint could be applied - that would preserve it for many years to come. Approaching classic status if for no other reason than most have been scrapped. Lovely car to drive, quiet and easy to manoeuvre - good all round visibility. This car has been lowered to improve looks and handling. Can be returned to original height if required. The alloy wheels shown in the final photo do not come with the car. Thanks.
