Synopsis: Killing Zoe is a fast-paced, visually exciting, crime thriller set in Paris. Writer/director Roger Avary reunited with Quentin Tarantino to direct his debut feature, developing his own style of high-energy cinema with a coldly naturalistic edge.Fresh out of jail, notorious safecracker Zed (Eric Stoltz - The Rules of Attraction, The Butterfly Effect) flies to Paris to meet his old friend Eric (Jean-Hugues Anglade - La Femme Nikita, Taking Lives), who has requested Zed's superior skills for a daring Bastille Day bank heist. On the journey to his hotel he is introduced to a beautiful prostitute Zoe (Julie Delpy - Three Colours White, Broken Flowers) and takes the opportunity to indulge his desire for sex and relaxation. The two hit it off but he has to choose between time with Zoe and Eric's plans to show him "the real Paris": a journey into the sordid underground on an alcohol and heroin-fuelled night of debauchery. Zed's decision to go with Eric has deep and unexpected consequences. The next day's bank robbery quickly and violently spirals out of control as a hostage situation develops. Zoe is caught in the middle and Zed is confronted with a moral dilemma. Killing Zoe is at once a crime film, a love story and a gripping psychological thriller; Avary probes deep into Zed's distorted world, producing a disturbing portrayal of the twenty-something generation
