Description
One of the most recognised and culturally significant names in metal over the last thirty years, MEGADETH ‘s TH1RT3EN is, indeed, the band’s 13th studio album. Dave Mustaine is incredibly proud of the music on the new recording, stating, "This record is the culmination of my work over the 13 records I recorded. There are moments on TH1RT3EN that capture my every emotion, and other moments where I am releasing feelings I never knew existed! My proudest moments of my musical career are captured on TH1RT3EN”.
TH1RT3EN also marks the recorded return of bassist Dave Ellefson, who was part of the band's classic line-up from 1983 to 2002. In a move that delighted the band's legion of diehard fans, Ellefson returned to the stage with Megadeth in early 2010 and has remained a fixture ever since. This is the first time Ellefson has played on a Megadeth record since 2002's RUDE AWAKENING.
Included on the album is a track, ‘Never Dead’, which was specifically recorded for the NEVERDEAD action-adventure video game franchise. Another album track, ‘Sudden Death’ was recorded for ‘Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock’ and the lead single, ‘Public Enemy No.1’ was showcased live this summer, as Megadeth played selected shows with the Big 4 – including a set at Knebworth in July.
With nine Grammy nominations under their bullet belts and 25 million albums sold globally, MEGADETH need no introduction. They've essentially written the book on hard rock and heavy metal, gaining momentum with each critically lauded release. TH1RT3EN is the latest chapter.
