Description
Doug Jerebine is one of New Zealand's (almost) lost musical legends -- turning his back on a promising musical career in the early 1970s, Doug joined the Hare Krishna movement and stopped making music. The debut album he recorded in 1969 which was never released, now sees the light of day, issued as 'Doug Jerebine is Jesse Harper' -- a nod to his on stage persona of the 60s and 70s. The album might be over 40 years old but it still blows away just about everyone else trying to do that 60s psychedelic blues rock thing that Hendrix conjured up. Doug Jerebine had that Jimi sound down pat and, if he'd kept at it, could have been the biggest thing to come out of this country. The CD features 4 bonus tracks, including a near 30-minute psychedelic jam, recorded with the World Band. Tracks:
- Midnight Sun
- Hole In My Hand
- Fall Down
- Ashes And Matches
- Thawed Ice
- Ain't So Hard To Do
- Good News Blues
- Reddened Eyes
- Circles
- Idea
- (The Whole World') Hangin' On My Side Bonus Tracks:
- Bengal Tigers
- Tea For Two
- Fire
- Nava Shant
