Description
3CD BOX
54 songs from the first 5 years of the 90s could be a disaster area but this selection isn't bad at all without being worth the full 5 stars and here is what could be the most outrageous copy of all in Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby which had to be credited to all the members of Queen and David Bowie for the intro to Under Pressure which is no more than a 2 note riff! The words by Ice represent no doubt the most work here but without that riff he probably wouldn't even be a One Hit Wonder The 90s was a decade when songs became hits after being used in movies or commercials eg the Mock Turtles'Can You Dig It was by a Manchester band of nearly 10 years earlier, when actual song titles seemed to be running out thus before long there were 3 more songs called Stay none of which were the Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs' one and even Deborah Harry managed to make a song called I Can See Clearly Now which has nothing to do with the Johnny Nash hit though Pato Banton's Baby Come Back IS the real one the Equals charted with.It was also the decade when then another home grown reggae record topped the charts in the States-Maxi Priest's Close To You and it was the decade before downloading would eventually kill off even the idea of the pop charts
