Description
In 2004, Hellacopters celebrated their 10th anniversary together, but everyone who has followed them over the years knows that they're not inclined to rest on their laurels.
They continue to be inspired by and absorb every kind of music they like, whether it's called punk, hard rock, soul or blues. As always, singer / guitarist Nick Royale writes most of the material, but every member, as well as producer Chips K, puts his own stamp on the material. The result is something that at the same time sounds new and classic, including their unmistakeable fingerprints and a built-in integrity that makes their sound feel natural.
The album 'Rock & Roll Is Dead' is the band's most naturally grooving so far. It covers the full range of the Hellacopters sound, while also adding a few new ingredients. The album was made in Stockholm, Sweden, where they all live. The recording took place at Atlantis, with Chips K at the producers helm, Michael Ilbert engineered half the album and Janne Hansson the other half before whole thing was mixed by Ilbert at Megaphon.
