Description
Cornet by Besson in excellent condition.
Engraving on the bell says: Solbron (registered) Class A. Boosey & Co Makers London 114711 British Throughout
The valves and the slides are all very free.
There are two mouthpieces. One is some kind of plastic or nylon material and the other is metal. No names on either mouthpiece. There is only on tiny ding on the cornet which I have shown on the photo. No case, but the cornet comes with a box. When I googled Solbron to find out what it meant it came up with this: 'Solbron' is the model type and the name comes from the metal used in the valves, a combination of 'solder' and bronze. 'Silbron' is the later improved models name and is a combination of the words 'silver' and 'bronze'. These names denote Boosey's top line models in that era.
