Description
Hand made in 2009 by German based master luthier Michael Wichmann. This exquisite guitar has a solid Spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck and an ebony fret board. The guitar is played like a 6 string with standard tuning with the addition of 4 extra bass strings that run down from the low E(6) diatonically (D7, C8, B9, A10). The extra bass strings add incredible sympathetic resonance giving this guitar a unique and beautiful sound. With the current tuning the guitar is ideal for renaissance and baroque lute transcriptions. Lute’s had extra bass strings just like the ten string guitar. You can also change the bass strings making the guitar ideal for a number of romantic compositions. Above all this guitar has great playability with an exceptional feel and sound. All the aesthetic details have been executed with finesse. There is some ware on the sound board where finger nails have made minute dents near the sound hole and a few scratches also on the sound board. Some of the lacquer has been worn down on the neck. Apart from this the guitar is in great condition.
