Yes folks, it's true.
I'm selling my own bass, the one I built up out of the dismembered carcasses of various experiments and vivsected instruments in order to take the stage with the mighty Random Samicks. As such, it is essentially the prototype for the Ash Quattra model in its current form. It has a few battle scars and evidence of the aforementioned experiments, but let that not dissuade you. It plays and sounds fantabulous. In fact, I was playing a brand new P-bass yesterday and thought for a moment that I finally understood what all the fuss was about over P-basses. Then I plugged the Quattra in and realised that I still didn't understand what the fuss over P-basses was all about. The Quattra Is Just Better.
Specs:
Body - Fijian Kauri, super sexy figuring and shimmer in the light. Must see.
Neck - Merbau, oiled finish, sleek and sexy, slim Jazz Bass dimensions, inspired by a Warwick.
Frets - 24, pyramid jumbo, good condition
Tuners - Gotoh GB707 (better than almost anything)
Bridge: Gotoh 404SJ (also amongst the best)
Nut - Graphtech
Pickup - Kent Armstrong MM humbucker
Preamp - Ibanez RD
Controls - Volume/Treble/Bass/Coil-tap
Strings - 45-105 roundwound
Finish - trans-blue with violet pearl burst on the top. Gloss top, satin back.
So why am I selling it if it's so awesome?
It's due to be replaced by a pair of new Ash Supra prototypes.
Does it come with a case?
No, but I can supply a case or gigbag at some extra cost.
Why so cheap?
It's used and a bit of a freakshow with dents, plugged holes and moved whatnots. It's half the price of a new one and deserves to be used.
Moved Whatnots?
Yes. More pics of the dents, plugs and whatnots can be seen at nzguitars.com or by enquiring at Ash Customworks.
