Up for auction is my 2012 GIBSON MIDTOWN STD - WITH BIGSBY - FADED RED - USA. One of my favourites. Powerful, sweet, mellow, raunchy, growl like a cat, no nonsense Gibsons. No dings, mint condition.
The Midtown is a new hybrid. This model was launched in 2011 and is a marriage of the solid body and archtop.
What great value compared to the ES models and Les Paul's. I tell you, the tonal voice from the humbuckers is both powerful and sweet. This is an EXCELLENT quality Gibson. The latest design combining historic shape and tonal excellence.

The faded red colour is beautiful. It has a subtle woodgrain Maple top which presents a delicate, quality finish combined with a wood grained mahogany back.

The ultimate hybrid Gibson, a new breed of electric guitar that offers ultimate "Tonestry." WOW !! It has trimmed-down player friendly body size, built with solid-wood construction rather than a laminated top and back. It has twin ‘57 Classic humbuckers, top-notch hardware, and the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece is an awesome feature. It has Grover Tulip tuners.
The Midtown starts with a solid mahogany body that is strategically chambered for optimum resonance. A solid maple top with f-holes is glued to this foundation. A solid mahogany neck is carved to a fast, comfortable '60s-style profile.

A ‘57 Classic in the neck position offers tones that are creamy and warm yet always articulate, while a slightly hotter ‘57 Classic Plus in the bridge yields raunchier crunch and scorching lead tones, with round, funky tones available from the both-pickups selection.
A Bigsby vibrato tailpiece extends the Midtown's playing range even further, with the aid of a TonePros roller-saddle bridge, designed to keep you in tune even with heavy whammy action.
