Selmer Paris 10S wooden clarinets - A and Bb. Double barrels for each clarinet. No original double case but instead I am including a BAM double case w/shoulder straps. Purchased in 2009 from Music Services for around $300.00.

I am the 2nd owner of these clarinets. I purchased them in 2008 from the original owner who purchased them brand new in the UK 15-20 years ago.

The A clarinet has seldom been used so is in excellent condition. There are no cracks or major cosmetic scratches on the body.

The Bb clarinet has been used for solo and doubling work so has had more playing time. No cracks, a few minor scratches on the upper joint and bell.

Both clarinets were last fully serviced by Gordon Palmer (Auckland) in 2008. The Bb has had a few pad replacements and key adjustments during the past year. It may need a little work to get it into top playing condition but it plays well right now.

These clarinets would be great as an upgrade from a beginner/intermediate clarinet. Now days you will be expected to fork out almost $8000 for a decent pair of new pro clarinets. The advantage of having the A is obviously being able to explore solo/chamber/orchestra works.

The older pro Selmer clarinets such as the 10S and 10S II models are known to have denser wood around the body so they are slightly heavier horns compared to Buffet R13's, Yamaha 651's or custom models.
