English merchant, John Tunstall, takes in a group of rougish and troubled young men as his "Regulators", each endowed with an assortment of useful "talents".
In exchange for shelter, an education and a second chance the Regulators protect Tunstall's ranch from the influential L.G. Murphy and his men - The Ring.
During a visit to town Tunstall is killed by Murphy's posse, and with the law powerless to bring The Ring to justice, the Regulators declare war on Murphy and his gang.
They begin to systematically hunt down and wreak vengeance on each of the killers, fuelled by the recklessness of "Billy The Kid", their exploits begin to take on a legendary myth-like existence.
It is their vendetta that begins the largest manhunt in the history of the west
