Hypericum perforatum. A very highly thought of medicinal herb that has been in use for a very long time. Perennial, and drought tolerant, it grows to 1m high x 30cm wide with pretty yellow flowers. This plant self-seeds freely, so dead head to prevent it from becoming invasive.
When harvesting, use only the top third of the plant to obtain the best quality hypericin content. Use fresh in herb tincture, or lay flat on a sheet or hang bundles to dry for tea. You will need 50 grams of St Johns Wort herb a day for tea, so an herbal tincture is more practical.
The oil of St. John's Wort is made from the flowers infused in olive oil.
St Johns Wort has traditionally been used in the treatment of numerous conditions, including mild depression, pulmonary complaints, and bladder problems.
Sow early-mid Spring, or late Summer/early Autumn. Seeds may take some time to germinate, possibly 3 months and more, so be patient with them.
Packet of 25 seeds. Comes with a copy of this description, and sowing instructions.
The winning bidder will receive an automatic email from me as soon as the auction closes.

Items sent by NZ Post are sometimes lost or stolen, and are untraceable. If this happens I will lodge an enquiry for you. I am unable to get Postal Receipts for everything sent, so there is a chance NZ Post will not refund for lost mail. IF they do refund, I will gladly pass it on to you, or replace your item/s if I can.
