I was horrified at the quality and price of dog mattresses when I tried to find one for our dog Sue, so I took matters into my own hands and made my own. These woolrests may not be pretty, but they are packed full of fresh sorted fleece wool straight from our woolshed (unwashed) so it still has that lanolin smell. The sacks are tough, clean and unused. Natural wool holds therapeutic qualities, especially comforting for dogs suffering from old injuries or arthritis, with the added bonus that lanolin is a natural flea repellent (did you know that?) and dogs are instinctively attracted to the lanolin smell. Size 65 x 102 rolled at the end and loosely hand sewn with string to allow for easy access for topping up or cleaning. I have shown a photo of Sue's mattress after a year- they do pack down as wool does, but it's still nice and comfy. A good shake fluffs it back up. Please feel free to view other listings.

Please note: I have had to wrestle with the mattress to pack it down as tightly as possible for posting (to get the most cost effective price for you) so mattress will need a jolly good shake when you get it - please do not have the expectation that it will look like photo 1 after being in the mail.
