This volcanic bath sand has been tried and tested by an experienced chinchilla breeder & rescuer after extensive research into the wild chinchillas bathing habits.

This fine sand is produced right here in New Zealand’s own volcanoes & has the same texture as the volcanic sand chinchillas encounter in their wild habitat.

With a high absorption ratio (60%) this sand is just what you need to keep your chinchillas coat in perfect, soft, clean condition!

This sand is fine, and grains an even size, but coarse enough that it won’t get stuck in your chins eyes or ears & can’t be breathed in like the finer ‘dust’s that can lead to serious infections.

This sand is excellent when refrigerated or frozen for 5-10 minutes before bath time on hot summer days!

This sand is easily reusable, remove any waste & pee’d on sand & store, covered, until next bath.

There are many theories as to the frequency of baths needed by pet chinchillas, it is my opinion that, pet chinchillas should be given a daily bath, for at least 10minutes.
