My turkey family are housed and free-ranged with my chooks. All get along well. Turkeys make excellent watch dogs for your birds, my female has even flown up in the air a few times to chase off hawks, and have always alerted the chooks of danger with a call or a gobble!

Turkeys are very hardy, and are happy enough just to roost on a fence or tree branch, and will come to a "chook chook chook" call at feeding time.

Mum from Northland and Dad from Whanganui, so you can be sure they are not inbred.
