Description
This attractive and sturdy little 3/4 pint red brown clay jug was designed by Bendigo Pottery in Victoria around 1914, and was referred to as Langley Ware.
This jug is in reasonable condition with one crack in lip as seen in picture.
The straight sides of this jug taper slightly towards the top and the pouring lip. The lower part of the jug is in a textured stippled design. There is a row of impressed dots between the stippled surface and the red brown glaze at the top. This jug has no stamped or printed markings on its red brown clay base. This is a jug for the collector. A jug similar in design to this one is held by the national Museum of Australia.
Height: Approx. 140mm Base dia 95mm
