“The Hunt”

Embossed
Hunting scene
with a Hound handle

The moulded hunt scene
pattern is exclusively
Wedgwood and were used
by Wedgwood on jugs. On
the one side two huntsmen
converse, one mounted and
the other on foot holding his horse
and their hounds gather at their feet.

In 1925 an enamelled Queen's Ware
Jug with the handle cast in the shape
of a stretching hound were introduced.

hand printed symbol which I cannot quite read.

from widest point of jug to end of handle



A very old
beautiful jug which
has aged with grace
over time and shows some
slight crazing and some slight
discolouration on the inside of the jug.
Two slight chips on base which can be
touched up by a restorer if you wanted to.





Pick up is Upper Hutt
