I'm moving overseas for two years from August, and I'm looking for responsible, long-term, non-smoking tenants to rent my house while I'm away. The house is a 1960's, 4 bedroom (or 3 plus office) weatherboard home in excellent condition. It is built on a rise, and because of this it gets all day sun. When I purchased the house 3 years ago, I completely redecorated it. The wooden floors were redone, and the walls and ceilings painted in light, neutral colours. Brand new blinds were installed in the bedrooms, lounge, dining room and kitchen. The house has a single garage and carport. It also has a fireplace, an in-built burglar and smoke alarm, and a DVS system which means that it is an exceptionally dry and healthy place to live. The garden is very low-maintenance, and needs just minor weeding and lawn-mowing to keep it in order. I usually spray the weeds every few months. There is a lovely lemon tree out the back which needs 'feeding' about once a year. The house is on a quiet street located approximately 800m from Paraparaumu train station. The nearest bus stop is about 200m away. There are two primary schools, one pre-school and a dairy within easy walking distance. Coastlands mall is about 12min walking distance or 2min driving distance away. Both Paraparaumu College and Kapiti College are an easy 10min drive, and there are buses that service the schools from the train station. This house is a wonderful place to live and I am incredibly sad to be packing up and leaving it - even if for only a couple of years. I imagine it would suit a professional couple who work in Wellington city and want to escape to the Coast in the evenings as I do (but with the added convenience of being able to use public transport to do so), or a small family who want to be able to walk their children to school in the mornings without crossing any major motorways. Although I love animals, the house is not appropriate for dogs. Cats are okay. Viewings by appointment only, from Friday 22 April.
