To ensure you achieve great results when smoking food, you need to:
- control the temperature
- control the smoke volume
- use dry, UNSOAKED smoking wood
- create a consistent, uniform burn
With a Smokai SG1200 Smoke Generator, you can do all of this on your Hooded BBQ and more.
We've hot smoked Chicken, Salmon, Trout, Snapper, Kahawai, Mussels and even Pork Ribs uninterrupted over 6 hours this way and the results are sensational.
Using a portable fish smoker, you can't control the temperature or smoke volume. Using a wood tray in a Gas or some Electric Smokers, you get an inconsistent burn and you can't control the smoke volume.
The Smokai SG1200 Smoke Generator lights quickly with a match to produce a constant volume of intensive cool smoke which can be easily adjusted. With a descent hopper capacity, it will last up to 7 hours depending on pump setting, wood variety & type of wood fuel used.
It's a smarter way of smoking your food and it tastes so much better too!
You can use smoker sawdust, wood chip or wood pellets.
We suggest retrofitting the unit to a rotisserie bracket (see photos), but you'll need to check that the hole entering the BBQ is at least 20mm in diameter if you take this approach. Otherwise you can retrofit another way that suits your setup.
