The Bloody Butcher is a classic traditional wet fly invented in the 19th Century by Mr Jewhurst and Mr Moon (a butcher). Traditionally a fly for brown trout and sea-run trout - this also catches plenty of rainbows. The bloody butcher with its silver body can be particularly effective on fish feeding on whitebait or smelt.
