The seller is required to sight the buyer's firearms licence and required documentation.
Octagonal barrelled 510cm (20inch) single shot rifle with refurbished woodwork, no borer and no rust.
Serial number I 9520
'H.PIEPER'S PATENT LIEGE BELGUIM' on top of barrel.
Barrel and ejector are worn with little rifling left, but no bulges or bore rings,
the rifle is still in working order WITH .22 SHORTS OR .22 CAPS.
See Pic 7 of target which was a standard sized pizza packet with a 74x104mm white patch in the middle, 10 shot at 25 paces (rough yards) with a mixture of .22 short ammo on 30.09.07.
There is a witnesses who is prepared to varify if required.
(I only shouted him a dozen beers after and helped drink them too, not enough for anything but the truth)
N.B. The 'FL.22.L' on the left hand side of the barrel applied only during the black powder period of Pieper's production of these rifles (C1870-1896). Thereafter until finish of production
in 1920 The 'L' was replaced with an 'S' The rifle's more a collector piece than a shooter.

Frenchman Louis Nicolas Auguste Flobert is accredited with the invention of the RF.22 and secured a patent for them on 23 July 1849. His .22 was little more than a percussion cap holding a lead ball. Todays .22 cal BB caps are very similar to Flobert's original design.
In 1857 Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson improved the Flobert concept with the .22 black powder short.

Flobert's breach action is safe enough for todays low power shorts & caps but definitely not for todays .22LR ammo at up to 1255ft/sec MV with an Industry Pressure Limit of 24,000 psi
